Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that targ Yin yoga is a quiet, meditative practice that targets the network of our connective tissues.

The aim of Yin is to improve strength + flexibility in the joints and promote a sense of peace within 🤍

It’s a beautiful practice to bring some balance to our overly yang lifestyle ⚖️

In Yin we come into the pose to an edge that’s appropriate for us and become still + muscularly soft. We remain for 3 - 5 minutes to cultivate presence and nourish the target areas with tensional loading.

Unfolding mindfully we then experience the rebound … the sensations + the calmness ✨

Melbourne friends 👋 I’d love you to join me for a nourishing Yin yoga class on International Yoga Day

Meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety and Meditation can help reduce stress and anxiety and improve our focus.

It helps foster kindness not only to ourselves but to all beings. And OMG doesn’t the world need more of that right now 😔

But is meditation, or the thought of it, a struggle? It’s no wonder given our over-active minds and the challenges we’re facing.

Calming the mind and being present in the moment is not easy.

The reason for meditation is to train our attention rather than empty our minds 🙌 The benefits are a by-product of the practice.

Trataka, or Candle Gazing Meditation, is a beautiful technique you might like to try.

✨Sit with a candle in front of you, about an arm’s length away
✨Gaze softly at the candle, keeping the eyes open for as long as possible without blinking
✨Your eyes may become watery. Trataka is also said to be an eye-cleansing practice
✨After 5 minutes close your eyes and focus on the light behind your closed eyes for as long as possible

🪔Try it for a minute with this video of my candle. Save this for whenever you need an instant dose of mindfulness 🙏 💕💕
